Are you planning to study or travel overseas, or intending to send your child to do so? Here’s how to stay safe and make smart decisions—no matter where in the world.

 

Our half-day Urban Survival Camp was developed at the request of concerned parents who approached Into The Wild seeking a practical safety program for young adults heading abroad. In response, we conducted a local survey to better understand the specific gaps in readiness.

 

The results were clear:

•⁠  ⁠None of the parents surveyed felt fully confident in their young adult’s ability to navigate unfamiliar areas or an emergency situation 

•⁠  ⁠Most gave a neutral rating when asked about their ability to handle unwanted attention or assess risky situations

•⁠  ⁠No parent expressed confidence in their ability to respond effectively in a medical emergency

 

Guided by these insights, the Urban Survival Camp is designed to deliver scenario-based training led by experienced safety professionals.

 

Participants will learn:

•⁠  ⁠Situational awareness and personal security in urban environments

•⁠  ⁠How to respond to theft, scams, and common travel threats

•⁠  ⁠Strategies for travelling alone and commuting safely at night

•⁠  ⁠Navigating racial or cultural discrimination

•⁠  ⁠Emergency response fundamentals, including dealing with medical incidents

 

This program bridges the gap between academic readiness and real-world resilience—giving young people the tools they need to stay safe, adapt fast, and thrive overseas.
